Have a similar problem, bought a unit off e-bay which had been registered by the previous owner. Problem is Logitech support have told me they cannot fix this due to "Security Policy". I get that this may offer some vague deterrant to re-birthing stolen squeezebox's but surely this is a tiny possibility.
