Because as I tried to explain above the whole system was originally
designed to be used with a local SBS in mind (imho at least). That
said, I agree that it might have been a better idea to use a device
based alarm logic for the new SP devices, but then hindsight is always
20/20.

P.S.: As you might have guessed, I run my own SBS and my alarms work
>99,9% of the time. :)
