It's two buttons clearly marked 'volume' on the Boom.
It's a button clearly marked 'volume' on the Radion.

So from a consumer perspective (which is the only valid perspective
that matters) its not a multi-input request device.
Its devices that got volume buttons that should work instantly as
hundreds of devices in the last decades proved to be a possible thing.

Anything else is failed implementation and should be called so
(whatever the reasoning by the techies behind the scenes).

As much as I like all my devices (which work like a charm with a local
server) - we shouldn't defend stupid design decisions.
