You weren't the only one pointing to this announcement, I think there's at least one more thread. I feel people just buy into the marketing way too much.
Deezer has been offering 320 kbps for a while. Even if you have above-average hearing, what percentage of songs do you figure might have identifiable problem samples? I think the number is fairly close to zero given much lower bitrates have been shown to be transparent (=perceptually identical to lossless) in double-blind tests.
