Oh, I'm absolutely NOT advocating it (MAC spoofing in the logitech
realm).  I just want to use a raspberry pi as a replacement for a sb
touch or other hardware that logitech no longer produces, just like
probably thousands of other DIY users.  I certainly don't want logitech
to take steps as drastic as you mention and I'm NOT trying to incite
anything here, but your run of the mill hobbyist is going to try and
find a solution to THEIR problem.  They may not know that by doing so
could bring the hammer down on EVERYONE.
