PLEASE don't tell me you're using telnet!!! Please please please.... I
STRONGLY suggest (along with anybody involved in
linux/unix/networking) to not use Telnet.

Anyway, back to your question, it really depends how your IMAP server
authenticates. There is a bunch of plugins on the SquirrelMail website
that allow for changing of passwords.
