SquirrelMail -> Options -> Display preferences -> Language conf.pl -> 1. Organization Preferences -> 6. Default Language Under some situations interface might be in English, but you might use non English translation. Help system does not depend on php gettext or system configuration and it might use translated help pages. I have seen situation when incorrectly formatted help files cause endless loop in help pages. It was long ago, I am not sure if situation is already fixed. I can't reproduce your problem in English translation on php 4.3.8 and squirrelmail 1.5.1cvs. I think, help system was not changed between 1.4.1 and 1.5.1cvs. Only one header specific to Japanese translation was fixed. Possible problems: * problem is specific to php 4.3.6 or your php config. * non English translation * modified help files * modified squirrelmail version * some plugin messes with help system hooks (help_top, help_chapter, help_bottom).
