Sendmail does not deliver to maildirs, so you can't use the plain vanilla
sendmail.
You really need to get a handle on the basics, before you go off installing
software left and right. Learn what maildirs are, and are not. Understand
what each software component does. Otherwise everything will go over your
head pretty quickly.
