: 1. Is there some sort of "SyslogFacility" feature in ssh2?
I think I've answered this in some context in this list. Anyway, there
isn't now. ssh-2.0.12 (which will be released soon) will have this
configuration parameter.
: 2. Despite proper ssh1 compatibility setup as described in the
: SSH2.QUICKSTART file, it does NOT work in either direction. Of course, my
: testing has been limited to Aix 4.3.1. Perhaps this is less of a problem on
: other platforms such as solaris; though I did notice that one or two other
: individuals acknowleged running into similar difficulties.
On the platforms I've been able to test it, it works fine (aside from
scp2-client=>ssh1-server . At the moment, there isn't any beautiful
solution for that problem. ssh-2.0.11 also has a bug that effectively foils
scp1-client=>ssh2-server compatibility, but this is fixed in ssh-2.0.12).
Reports of any incompatibilities and solutions for those are
appreciated. Just post your reports to [EMAIL PROTECTED], and we'll get
on it.
: 3. Is there some sort of "AllowHosts" feature in ssh2?
Not yet. There is in ssh-2.0.12.
: Many features in the ssh2 application are still under development. Perhaps
: it is simply too early to convert over to using ssh v2.x in place of ssh
: v1.x ?
I'm pretty much too biased to answer this :)
