This information is useful. As per my understanding on STAF, we need the
STAF to be running on the device used, but in some cases it may not be
possible to have / install STAF on the Device Under Test (DUT).
For example, if we need to do telnet/ssh/rsh to any of the unix based
system, and once the session is established, we can send the commands to
be executed there and get the response received from the CLI. These
output need to be parsed to analyze the test is passed or Failed.
Will this be possible using STAF? Please clarify.

Yes, STAF is a peer-to-peer framework so STAF must be running on all
machines in order to submit a STAF service request from one machine to
another.
I don't know how you want to use STAF to test routers. Please provide
more information on how you want to use STAF to test routers.

We are new STAF users. We would like to know how STAF and STAX can be
used for testing Routers.
As read from the different documents, we understand it is mandatory to
have STAF running in target machine (which is not possible in case of
router).
