It's useful when you know you missed some presences due to s2s being broken. You can send a presence probe and if you got an unavailable presence, you know that all resources are offline now. But that won't help: It's not standarized, so you can't rely on that. The only thing you can do is show all resources as offline, send a presence probe and show them as online again once you got a reply. -- Jonathan
