Aside from the recommended possible simplifications, I notice that the formatting of the send-receive examples (step 1 through 9) is not consistent with the send-receive examples in other XMPP specs. The formatting of the XML examples ought to be fixed for consistency, or even broken into separate CDATA blocks with text in between; it can still be done in a pretty compact manner.
