Since they appear to be required in this case (there's no way to rewrite this example not to use them), I would consider using my veto because of this. I'd also like to add my voice to the general agreement and say that we should not be defining our own SASL mechanisms (but a general token based mechanism would be a nice thing to have). RE: Nonza's: I also don't like the term, but like it even less that we made up a term and are now going to have to include "(see XEP-0360)" in every document that uses them. If we have to include a parenthetical letting people know where they can look up the term, we might as well have just used a more general term and added a bit of explanation where necessary to narrow it down.
