Hi all, Apologies for the drama. For what it's worth this was not a "vote to advance the suites or I'm leaving" situation. However, with both my author and council hats on I strongly disagree that we needed to make Kev's changes in the current suites (and think it's actively harmful to let the council remain in a mindset where we never have to get anything done and 11th hour changes can be introduced even in XEPs that will be republished the next year anyways).
This also isn't about this specific situation, after over a year of trying to get these through so that I can start working on the next years (remember that these were originally the 2016 suites which never made it through, then the 2017 suites were created to replace them, then those were renamed to 2018) I am rather fed up with wasting my time on them either way. So while I appreciate the discussion, I think the best thing to do now is to move forward and let someone else try and get a new suite published; maybe they'll have better luck than I did. I'll send out a call for a new author when I get a chance that explains a bit about what I think the purpose for the compliance suites are and how they can be improved in the future, hopefully someone else will be able to pick them up.
