General solutions should be preferred where possible, though that can sometimes
result in more complexity than necessary in an attempt to stay as general
possible (not to imply this is.)
Aside from one vocal opposition, is there active disinterest or is it 'Silence
Is Acceptance' and there simply isn't enough to complain about yet?

A minimal effort solution could be to grab the latest from all autojoin=true

Possibly a little more elaborate might be some server magic to decide which
MUCs have had 'recent participation' (sending to/receiving from the MUC in the
past N days.)
