Ah, but is that not a legalistic view, though? Same goes for licensing agreements - one could argue that companies need to be that strict to protect their own interests, but it would be nice to see companies take on a more friendly, helpful feel in that respect, instead of being so condemning. After all, if a StarMax user needs a CD, and they say, sure, yours is lost, so take a copy - think of the positive attitude that Apple and Motorola will pass on to their users? > Bottom line is that Apple vigorously goes after anybody that infringes on > EITHER the sale or distribution of its software regardless of age. Apple seems to go after just about everyone... I wonder how much money they're actually wasting on lawyers and lawsuits? I agreed with their stance against the cheap iMac knock-offs that came out a few years back, but generally, they ought to just calm down, chill, and leave all their fans alone. The loss of the happy Mac at start-up now seems fitting, really... I wasn't using Macs during the old "like the product, hate the company" times, but that's how I feel now. I also feel dissatisfied with what Mac OS X became - as though, in a sense, the Mac OS that I know and love is gone, and replaced by something of lesser quality. A shame, really, but as long as this StarMax keeps going, then it will do me fine. - Daniel. -- StarMax is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> StarMax list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/starmax.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/starmax%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
