Hello Brian,
I have a fairly new (April) system with P III 750 mhz, 256 ram + 32 ram on video card. Using Win. 98 SE. I too find that it does finds and starts its pans more slowly. I also see a little jerking when advancing ahead in time. The reason I have not said anything is because I know it is not my system since everything else is running OK and this seemed only a minor inconvenience. I don't know the problem but thought I heard it from one other. Perhaps Sienna is already looking at it.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Don, about 43 N. Lat.

ps. Who out there in Starry Night land knows how I can put the little o to show degrees so I don't have to use the arc min.'/arc sec." symbols? Or how about the 2 dots above an O as in Bootes?

Subject: [Starry Night] Speed

Hello All,

I am new to this discussion list, so please forgive me if this topic has
already been covered. I just upgraded to Pro 3.1.1 for Mac. I am running the
program on the same machine that I ran it on before I upgraded from 3.0.3.
It seems to be running MUCH slower now than it did before--like when I am
animating the time. I don't think that any of the settings are different
than they were before. I am sure that it runs slower...any ideas?

Brian
