Thanks Robert,
I'm using Outlook Express and it  won't work. Not a problem. Maybe I'll find a way to get it working one day. Thanks again. Don

Hi Don,

I'm at home right now (where I use Macs), at my office I use a Wintel PC, and MS Outlook as my mail program, so this is from memory.

From within MS-Outlook, I type ALT-2-4-8, to get the letter (o-umlaut). This means press and hold down the ALT key, then press 2, then 4, then 8, then release the ALT key.  The letter should appear.

So to directly answer your question, for Botes: type "B" "o" "ALT-2,4,8" "t" "e" "s"
For Plssl: type "Pl" "ALT-2,4,8" "ssl"
For 90: type "9" "0" "ALT-1,4,8"

hope this helps,
Robert.

PS. I mentioned the mail client etc. because sometimes the text editor may override these conventions, which have been around since MS-DOS, and the early 1980's, thus some software developers regard them as obsolete, but (foolishly) don't always provide an alternative.

PPS. my opinion of said software developers is not repeatable in polite company :-)
