Hi Don,
It depends on What computer you are using. On a PC, try this: Hold
down the ALT key and then press 1-4-8 in sequence, you should get the
little degree symbol �. (On a Mac this is OPTION-SHIFT-8)
For the O-umlaut, on the PC try ALT 2-4-8 (once again, hold down the
ALT key and press in sequence 2 then 4 then 8). On a Mac this is
OPTION-U followed by o, a two press sequence.
These little symbols are handy for astronomy, since we use degrees
all the time, and the O-umlaut is used in Pl�ssl, and in B�otes.
