If you have plans for a major change to the core I think you should immediately 
release 0.11.4 as a bug fix then the new core can be prepared as 0.12.0 in what 
could be a preliminary testing platform pending the release of 1.0.0 in December
 
The original requirement  list prepared for the release of a 1.0.0 version 
seems to be irrelevant now as all that was really required has been achieved. 
The only major addition that we have been waiting for is the addition of the 
DSS images, a preliminary version we have already seen as Fabien's toast 
images. This can easily be released as an update to 1.1.0. I think that after 
10 years it is time to complete the Stellarium base project.  Additions can 
still be added as the facilities change.
