Subject: Re: [Stellarium-pubdevel] A new release schedule 0.11.4

  Dear all,

I'm a bit concerned about the changes in the core code for the new version of
Stellarium, and how they may affect the "Observability" plugin. Could you
please give more info about the changes?

By the way, I prepared a new version of the plugin, taking into account all
the comments by Georg. It is the revision number 5335 in:

  https://code.launchpad.net/~i-martividal/stellarium/Observability

Would it be possible that Georg (and/or someone else interested) takes a
further look at this new version, before I begin to "dive" into the merging
conflicts with the main trunk? I'd very much appreciate your feedback!

It would be wonderful if we could have a good working version of the plugin
(one everyone is happy with) for the next release!

     Best Wishes,

              Ivan

They don't actively speak of dropping 1.x, but see
    http://qt-project.org/wiki/Qt_5.0 under Platforms:

"We are targeting to have the following platform configurations as
reference platforms for Qt 5.0, targeting to run them on the Continuous
Integration system. On all platforms, Open GL (ES) 2.0 is required."

So Qt5.0 will be a cut and require some changes. Other team members will
be happier to finally "remove the old stuff".

I think the "real" 1.0 of Stellarium should wait for that. Or else, finish
1.0 with Qt4.8 to have it work on all systems, and release V2.0 already
later in 2013 based on Qt5.0?

    Kind regards,
    Georg
