We are currently in the process of spec'ing out a 2-node cluster that needs shared storage of some kind. The purpose is to run a CommuniGate Pro "dynamic cluster": http://www.communigate.com/CommuniGatePro/ClusterStorage.html
As I see it, there is two possibilities to do this: SC using "global devices" and QFS. Also, we could use a NAS system but that would require more funds. The hardware would be a StorageTek 6140 connected to both nodes and a private 2xGigE interconnect. My questions: - will Sun Cluster's "global device" functionality (I think this used to be called PxFS) have IO throughput I need? As I see it, there is a bottleneck present because all IO from the non-primary node must travel via the private interconnect. - is ZFS usable on "global device" under SC 3.2? (I don't think so.) - will QFS have better IO performance than SC in this setup? - anyone have better ways to approach this problem? Thanks very much for your time, Adam Sherman This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ storage-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/storage-discuss
