I understand that SC doesn't provide direct IO. How bad of a performance hit is this going to be? The underlying question here is whether we can start with plain SC and then _upgrade_ to Shared-QFS when we need it.

Secondly, I believe CommuniGate will run on top of SC since it deals with concurrency internally. I'd love to know this for sure though.
