My response might be little late for you. However I have experienced problems
with Shared SAM-FS/QFS and Sun Cluster 3.1.

The "did" devices on sun cluster creates SCSI locks for QFS/SAM-FS devices.
SAM-FS/QFS does not work on locking mechanism. Even though the metadata for
QFS is configured as Local-only in Sun cluster (scconf -a -D
type=rawdisk,name=
,nodelist=<host1,host2>preferenced=<?>,globaldev=.......,localonly=true). The SAM-FS (archiving) clients
hangs some times. I had to disable the sun cluster.

If you want to use Sun Cluster make sure there are no clients attached to
SAM-FS/QFS. It is risky.

Prime Cluster (FUJITSU) is another possibility.
