That is not entirely correct. I did it numerous times. It is just that
Sun' tools
do not allow you to flash the firmware on non-Sun cards. One still can use
QLogic tools to do that - their tools seem to simply do the job. Of course,
that means that one need to switch drivers during the operation or have
another machine with QLogic drivers just to flash the cards.
