I can't 100% exclude this is the issue and tried to investigate some time ago. Since Solaris by default seems to skip first 128k, it should be okay:
GNU Parted 1.8.8 Using /dev/rdsk/c4t6d0p0 Welcome to GNU Parted! Type 'help' to view a list of commands. (parted) print print Model: Generic Ide (ide) Disk /dev/rdsk/c4t6d0p0: 1500GB Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B Partition Table: gpt Number Start End Size File system Name Flags 1 131kB 1500GB 1500GB zfs 9 1500GB 1500GB 8389kB However I'm not 100% sure how ZFS handles this. Nevertheless it doesn't really explain, why the performance is okay, when I start the disk and it is degrading severely after some days. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ storage-discuss mailing list storage-discuss@opensolaris.org http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/storage-discuss
