Hi,

I can't change the drives yet since I need this storage available very soon (in
few days). So, even if I have to fall-back to UFS, I'll keep those drives for
few months.

Anyway, I'm currently doing some tests on this X4500 ; With only 2 drives in
mirror, I have the same issue : perfs are ok, then drop after few hours of
intensive usage.. The strange thing is that if I export and re-import the
mirror pool... the perfs are back again for few minutes.. then drop. I don't
have any explanation.

I'll now test the drives with UFS with fragsize=4k and bsize=8k ; if the
performances issues are misalignment-related, the perfs should be ok. After
that, i'll try to create a zfs-over-ufs solution. It should do the trick until
I change the drives.

Along that, I've opened a ticket with western digital about this problem.

By the way, I also use some SSD drives in the NAS ; those drive have 8k
sectors, but they are reported as 512b sectors. The perfs are ok, but i think
that they could be better if I'd found a way to indicate zfs the correct block
size.

Regards,

Greg.
