Hi,

In the latest Opensolaris build, the ahci(7D) is the only SATA driver that supports the port multipliers. That means you can only use PMP with a 100% AHCI-compatible SATA controllers (like Intel's ICH9/ICH10/Ibexpeak, AMD SB700). On the PMP side, SI3726 (5-port) and SI4726 (5-port) are on the list.

I think that you're probably using a SI3124 SATA controller which uses the si3124(7D) SATA driver. The si3124 driver does not support PMP yet.

Xiaoyu

Hello,
I was hoping someone knew if PMP support in B125+ was removed. I am successfully using SIL3124/SIL3726 in B122-B124 but anything higher I get disconnected failed in cfgadm.

I also tried running cfgadm -x sata_reset_port and I get:
/ hardware driver ioctl/ failed

Thanks
