$14 million for a 1200 space parking ramp? How much did the ramp
cost to build and who gets to park in it?

Tim,

I did not want to suggest that there was too much discussion on
Ruminator
Books, but rather the comfort level people have in discussing
smaller
amounts of money. There is not a whole lot of difference when
addressing the
millions of dollars in public subsidy to private concerns, other
than a
greater bottom line impact to taxpayers. I wish there was this
kind of
public awareness when for example the City Council approved a
$14,000,000
deal (gift) to Principal Mutual in the form of a tax free, Downtown
1200
car, parking ramp. This kind of discussion is a step in the right
direction.
