Following on Tim Erickson's line:

"In my opinion, it's important to look at the details of this specific case
and not make blanket judgments."

Do we have any of the financial and management details about Ruminator? If
someone was coming to me to ask for a loan (which I assume that's what this
is), I'd want a look at their current books, and 1-2 year projections. Is
that kind of information available? Specifically:

- Revenue vs. Expenses for the past three years
- Tax revenue generated by the business
- Proposed financial plan for repaying the loan
- Identification of assets that will be used to secure the loan

- Proposed continuity of management after loan
- Details of personal liability by management
- # of local employees (creating local jobs? More than another kind of
business that would replace it?)
- Distribution of local vs. visiting buyers (i.e. is it bringing in
customers for other local business, or just serving a local community)

Basically I think the public, whose money it is to give, should know the
likelihood of the money being repaid (or at least partially recovered in
case of bankruptcy). And if we're looking at this as an investment, instead
of just a loan, I want to know more about the indirect impact of the
business (how many local people does it employ, vs. a business that would
move in there? Does it bring in any additional consumer traffic to the
area?)

If this kind of information isn't made public, then I don't think any kind
of deal should be arranged.

Thanks ahead of time,

Jim Ivey
