I agree that this forum is heavily anti-stadium. That may reflect the population (which I assume is still about 3:2 against, with the against side being way more passionate about it). Personally, I'm not necessarily against these sorts of things. I have a lot of trouble imagining a Twins stadium that would make economic sense to me, given that it's much more expensive than Xcel and would not generate the concert revenue. But it is entirely possible that the net city contribution would be lower than I anticipate, and I'd be for it. Keep in mind that I'd be about 6 blocks from the proposed location, and outside of how much you'd pay on the bar tax I'll be affected by it more than anyone who posts here a lot. But I do think we found a way to manage the Xcel traffic pretty well, and I think that the effects a bigger stadium has can also be dealt with. Do I think any of that would happen? No. I'm a cynic. But I'm willing to be convinced.
