a 3% tax on food and beverage isn't a voluntary tax unless you make the decision to take your business somewhere else because of the additional tax in Saint Paul.

Not when you work DT and have limited lunch breaks, limited time for other breaks... who pays then, every person who works in DT that makes it a TOTALY INVOLUNTARY TAX, either that or you brown bag it to work everyday.

Councilman Thune ran on a platform of no public funds for a
stadium, period. However he plans to fund it, it is going back on
his campaign promises. Ripping off some rich guys may feel better
than ripping off the food and beverage industry, and it may even be
more politically popular, but it is still a rip off.

I like to hear the Top Money makers squeel cause of the IDEA that they WILL have to cough up the cash for this thing.

Dave has successfully put the shoe on the other foot and kicked the supporters of this thing right where it hurts them the most, in their pocketbook and not that of the average person who might visit or work in DT.

I like it when you can see first hand how quick they are to spend our money but theirs.... KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF.

Now if people could just understand how politics is played they might understand better how smart Dave is and is keeping his campaign promises at the same time.

You may think he is supporting this, he is not. At the same time he is showing the Chamber and Company just how stupid their idea's are when it's their Pocket Book that has to pay to play. Watch how fast this IDEA is shot down by the Boys with the cash, and then use that against them when they try an end run in another direction.
