It chills discussion greatly when stalkers like Swift respond to thoughtful
public posts with obscene private e-mails and threats.  It's only mildly
amusing to see his ilk offering political insights on what's wrong with the
public school system in terms no one would accept from a five-year-old.

If you can't discourage that kind of behavior, it's going to be difficult to
draw out contributors.
