Guy is confused. He is dealing with the shame he brought on himself when he called my house and demanded a face-to-face meeting before realizing that he lacked the fortitude to show up after I graciously accepted his invitation.
I guess I should take this opportunity to address the half dozen or so keyboard commando's who've called or written me with threats or demands for satisfaction; especially the three who've done so within that last couple of months. I've responded to every one of you who've written or called with various threats the same way and believe me, I find it highly amusing to witness the discomfort the your failure to measure up to you're own delusions has brought you. I represent no physical threat to anyone who wishes to argue politics, and I have never, ever, issued such a threat in any way to anyone. This is a political discussion group. I take my politics seriously and don't begrudge others who do so. We are all free to judge and comment on each other's opinions and political point of view as vociferiously as we wish (within the guidelines of the forum). I've been called a bigot, a homophobe, a redneck, a "specieist" (really!) and plenty of other things. That's fine with me. In fact if you want to give me a call to argue your point in depth, that's OK as well: I'm in the book. But if you feel the need to physically challenge or threaten me publicly or privately or to disturb me at home by phone with such a challenge or threat, I expect you to have thought your decision through before you hit that enter key or pick up the phone. I assure you, if you demand I show up to meet you somewhere for whatever reason, I'll be there. If you issue threats, expect me to act on them. In the two instances that I have really "ripped on" elected officials in this forum my strong disapproval of their positions or actions were compounded by the fact that one had issued a personal insult backed by an obvious untruth and followed up that mistake with a ridiculously contrived excuse, or in the case of Thune, by my anger at myself for having believed for a second there was such a thing as a "common sense liberal". For the latter instance, I appologise to the group, for the prior I would be willing to accept an apology.
