Boy o boy o boy.
Alright.
What I was responding to was Jeanne's cantankerous
accusation that owners of bars and resturaunts are a
bunch of evil, rotten bastards who care nothing about
their employees, based completely on the fact that
(she says)they do nothing to provide clean air.
Maybe that's true in the places she hangs out in, but
that's not my experience.
All I'm saying is:
The owner of Ferns went out, of his own valition, on
his own dime and bought an air purification system (in
addition to whatever air handling equipment is already
in place) before Thune decided to save us.
AND
The hated Eagle Street Grill has an excellent system
installed above the bar where most of the smokin' is
going on. The air is very free of visable smoke; is
the air pristine? I don't know, and I don't care.
Period.
Nothing was or is said about how well any of these
things work, and it doesn't really matter anyway,
because even if a system returned air cleaner than an
Alpine breeze the PPL&A smells blood in the water and
won't be satisfied until they gorge on a few more
freedom's.

Heh. Maybe that's because no one can say what the risk
is in the first place. No one knows why some people
can smoke like chimneys every day for fifty years and
live to be 90+ (like my Granma) and other fragile
flowers faint away at the first whiff.
How can you quantify the effectiveness of a solution
to a problem that can't be quantified?
You know what WILL work, guaranteed? The masks I'm
talking about! Put 'em on and enjoy life!
