I am not so sure this is true. I don't think this
incident was one bad apple. I think these forms of
private attack emails happen more often. What happens
is the poster either ignores them, like I did or they
go away. This is why I suspect the list has a decided
slant in its political views and why there are so many
lurkers. I hope I am wrong.
My suggestion is the list managers carefully watch the
public comments and people use there delete function
judiciously on private messages.
If that doesn't work we should all chip in and buy
vbulletin or ezboard and change from a mail list to a
message board type forum. That would take all private
messages out of the loop unless you give someone your
email.

I hope so. I think we all just need to take a deep
breath. We need to remember it is the opinions that
differ, not the people behind them necessarily.
