Wow! Smoking Ban bungled! Dave Thune inept?

I think Russ is way too harsh on Dave and should give
credit where credit is due.

Dave originally proposed this ban, what back in June
or July, and shortly we will have Minneapolis bars and
restaurants going completely smoke free and it appears
that Hennepin County may follow suit this afternoon.
Bloomington is COMPLETELY smoke free and Ramsey County
Restaurants and most bars will be smoke free. Pretty
damn good in my book for a bungler.

I fail to understand what Russ is saying or proposed.
Should Thune have done nothing because the Mayor is an
ass? Dave pushed the Mayor to the point that he at
least he mouths the rhetoric about second-hand smoke
and got the Ramsey County Board to act.

The public is smart enough to realize that the crazy
quilt of smoking and non-smoking bars is the result of
Kelly's incestuous relationship with bar owners.

Dave did just fine and let me make a prediction here
and now. Come around January 2006 a new ordinance will
be introduced at the Saint Paul City Council banning
all smoking in bars in Saint Paul, (creating the truly
level playing field with Minneapolis Kelly has talked
so much about), and the new Mayor will endorse it.
