I'm puzzled... how has anything but good resulted from the hours of sweat blood and
tears put into the smoking ban proposal?
By next spring smoking will have been all but eliminated in restaurants and it will be
only a short matter of time before everyone else is smoke free in the metro area.

In politics one has to expect that almost anything might happen as an issue evolves.
Thje possibility that you won't get everything you ask for in the timeframe you want
should never be a reason for sitting on one's backside and wringing your hands. Popman
seems to believe that the smoking ban was my property - it wasn't. It belongs to the
people. The people who researched, lobbied, wrote, called, and the public was served
well by this activism.

The public was able to weigh in as never before on a vital health issue and their
concerns paid off. They have started the wheel a turning and it won't stop.

If any elected official is taking counsel from posts made to this list, God help us
all ;)
