Dave Thune has made it clear, that the restriping was initiated by folks in the community.

This connection between the busway and the restriping project on West 7th appears to have more to do with uncertainty about what is going on than any real practical connections.
Lets see if I can get this right... It was initiated by the "Folks in the Community" (sorry Eric Hare is not living in the area effected by this change so he is not in this part of the Community, Neither is Paul he is living in the Burbs), yet there is Uncertainty by us in the area about what is going on, hmmmm. OK, I think, maybe, I possibly understand what your saying.... on second thought, HUH???. :-)
I ask again, is anything the Ft Road Federation (or insert your neighborhood organization) happens to be in favor of considered the Will of the Community? If that is the case, then they need to be formally made parts of the government and voted into office like others who speak for our communities, not voted by those that happen to attend a meeting ( course who knows with a bunch of people it would be real easy to take over the Federation :-) ).
I would really like to know, how many people in the Community ( I mean those that really live in the west end ) were involved in this Community Initiated thing?
There was no public announcements about any sort of discussion of these changes, and We know that Diane Gerth President of the Federation is on the list, as is Dave Thune the council member for the area. There was nothing but a short piece in the Community reporter (last edition after the decisions had already been made). Where was this Communities Initiation in deciding such a major change in the Community?
Yet, like what we were told by the City, the Federation, and our Council Member at the time about GSE, don't worry be happy... We are slowing down traffic, making it easier to get across the street.
I take Dave for his word, this is not the intention (to make it easier for the busway to go through), but rather the opposite. But the best laid plans of mice and men make me concerned that when something like this goes on it leads to another step further down the Road.
