What's really amazing (and disgusting) about this is that Mayor Kelly has been
using threats to try to push this through.
First it was with the City Council, where some weeks ago he threatened certain
members that if they didn't support his Holman Field plans, their Wards would
pay the price.
And now he's up at the Capitol, doing the same thing. Why is it so important
for our delegation up there to hear from us that we don't want the airport
levee? Because "our" mayor has been there threatening that if this pet project
of his doesn't get funded, he'll have the governor veto every St Paul bonding
project.
This is US he's threatening, folks!!! These are our bonding projects at stake,
our city's development. It's not bad enough that he threatens and punishes
city employees for talking to Councilmembers, now this? What kind of mayor
threatens to hurt his own constituents, his own city?
Please make those calls, and encourage our legislators not to give into this
bully!

There is a bonding committee meeting going on at the capitol and one of the
questions is whether the state will bond millions to build a dike around
Holman Field, where the St. Paul airport is located. The St. Paul City
Council, a number of district councils, Friends of the Park and the National
Park Service are against this. Please call Senator Sandy Pappas and
Representative Alice Hausman and let them know if you don't want state
bonding money to go towards this project.
Senator Pappas' number at the capitol is 651-296-1802 and her email is
sen.sandy.pappas at senate.mn
Rep. Alice Hausman is at 651-296-3824 or rep.alice.hausman at house.mn
