I'm officially supporting Rafael Ortega. Dave you do have a vote if you
choose to cast it at the city convention as an automatic delegate.
However back in 2003 when you were running for your seat on the council you
issued a Ethanol plant lit piece that stated:
*****
It's Time To Clear The Air!
Who do you think will stop the Ethanol Stink?
"I've faced issues like this when we stopped the Metal Shredder.
I've stood up to big corporations when they wanted subsidies with no
guarantees of good jobs. I will fight for our neighborhood. I will fight
the ethanol stink!" - Dave Thune
Dave Thune is the only candidate who has fought battles like this before
and won. His opponent has never led a fight like this, and worse, is backed
by supporters of the ethanol plant!
The Chamber of Commerce is attempting to influence the outcome of this race
by raising tens of thousands of dollars to defeat Dave. Big business is
attempting to buy this election!
****
Chris Coleman endorsed the candidate who was "backed by supporters of the
ethanol plant" in the city council race in 2003. Where would our
neighborhood be today if we had followed Coleman's advice then?
The choice is clear Dave...support our neighborhoods, suport the DFL,
support Ortega for mayor. Don't get fooled again.
Dennis Hill
West 7th Street
Ward 2 DFL'er for Ortega
