Agreed; the marketing is abysmal...The Spousal Overunit mentioned that they should've gotten her on "What Not To Wear"- they manage to rewardrobe people for 3-5k... even with the unusual demands of campaigning as a woman, they should've been able to get it done for 25k.
But even so, it would've been a news story, because how much a woman spends on clothes in a male dominated field is always news.
