permeate is the left overs from cheese production etc ..

http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/cuisine/cheese-waste-in-up-to-16-of-milk-20120416-1x3sq.html

"The chief executive of A2 Milk, Peter Nathan, who said none of his milk

it is the whey .. cheese is the curds ... so logically I don't believe you
can have "permeate" free milk

so about the time that article above was published this marketing campaign
began

the article is almost advertorial disguised as investigative reporting

in all the ads I have seen they make out that permeate is some nasty
chemical additive
which clearly it is not ... but people perhaps have become so estranged
from where their
foods come from it can be made to make sense

this pure non permeate milk is a least $1 dearer per litre than the normal
supermarket milk
it is even more expensive than the organic [registered] full fat milk I get

anyhow it all seems too weird ... though it fits with the skinny latte
[skim milk in lovely arabica coffee please!] drinkers who go right ahead
an order a Caesar Salad with double dressing !!
