I submitted a new build to Google, the equivalent APK is available for download
here: http://subsurface-divelog.org/downloads/Subsurface-mobile-6.0.5568.91.apk
This should fix the black on black / white on white issues, fix the theming of
the title bar, and fix the unreasonable small font on some (but far from all)
devices.
I expect the font size heuristics to be a source of much joy in the future as
every vendor appears to be making up their own rules how things are set up at
start and the theoretically well defined information about screen size, screen
resolution, and pixel density appears to be at times misleading.
We have always had issues with the different implementations of swipe
navigation (Google way, Samsung way, Xiaomi way, etc). Those are reported to
the app as different inputs and it's hard to correctly handle those without
access to hundreds of different phones.
Swiping the equivalent of "if I'm lucky, my phone will think I meant to click
the back button" is the main reason why I still us the menu buttons on Android.
Thankfully that's still an option.
I haven't looked at the issue with the size of text entry fields - that's on my
list of things to chase down.
