List members,

I would like to cast my vote for the old system of replying to messages.
Being able to send a personal reply to the sender gives the opportunity
to easily and confidentially make a point to the sender that that
properly should not be shared with the group. The difficulty of
isolating the original sender's address has the effect of discouraging
communication between list members as individuals.

I do not understand why this change was initiated. Were there problems
with the old system? Why should we ourselves now impose impediments on
our ability to communicate directly with our colleagues on topics that
arise in the list?

Regards,
