I almost feel I shouldn't be sending this message, because the sundial list is supposed to be for messages about sundials, not for messages about default reply-to options for the sundial list. But I don't want my silence to be misconstrued, and so I offer my 2 cents....
I rarely respond to sundial list messages. When I do, I take note of the address listed in the reply-to field. If it's not the address I want to reply to, I have to do a little typing. No big deal. So, the recent change has little effect on me. What might have been a more welcome change would be changing the From: field to the sundial list. That way, I could by glancing at my inbox know which emails pertain to sundials and which do not. Regardless, it hasn't been a big issue for me. I read the list for pleasure, and if I want to worry about something, I find something worth worrying about. The header options for the list just don't fall into that category. One final note -- and maybe it's just me. I feel like a private response to a public email is analogous to whispering secrets in a meeting that's supposed to be public. It's almost, but not quite, rude. I realize there are situations where it is absolutely appropriate, but there are others where it may not be. Well, I have to go put on my asbestos underwear now.
