Fellow Shadow Watchers,

In his final comments Mr. Hunt quoted two of my recent remarks, the first
of which is snipped to omit the simple question viz. 'would a vertical
pylon yield acceptable accuracy with his 'unique' design?' An innocent
omission or a fudged issue?......now we will never know.

"Methinks he doth protest too much!"

>> I must agree that many people are surprised at how accurate a sundial

>> seems more like a calendar than a sundial.

The second point seems constructive to me, although expressed in my usual
style, and arose from my own experience and sheer panic when it was
pointed out to me that the VAT rate was much lower than I had previously
assumed. My warning stands, in particular for UK diallists who are
tempted to take on large public projects.

He's right of course, I do have better things to do, one of which is what
should become a rather nice conventional analemmatic dial with stainless
steel sun-in-flames hourmarkers and calendar line for a park near
Leicester. But I must resist the temptation to blow my own trumpet too
stridently or I might attract some genuine diallistic curiosity, honest
comment or even criticism ;-)
