Hi Anselmo:

I was in San Diego California about a year ago walking on the beach at
around sunset (I can't remember the date). I noticed a group of people
standing under the Scripps Institute of Oceanography ocean pier that extends
way out into the ocean on tall wooden poles. Standing under the pier it
looks like a long tunnel with a clear view of the horizon on the ocean
framed by the bottom of the pier and the support poles. I asked the people
why they were standing there and they said they were waiting for the sun to
set exactly in this opening. I waited, and sure enough, the sun did this.

ps. On a different topic, I had a gentleman's argument with somebody last
week who said the famous Green Flash is only visible at sunset when the view
conditions are right. I contend that the Green Flash should also be visible
at sunrise under the proper conditions. But neither one of us has seen a
morning green flash just as the sun rises. Have any of you?
