Cool. Will all interested ASPs please step forward! :-)
Ok, I am interested. What can be the next step?
Surely if there's money to be made here, partners can
be found.
If I am looking at the missing items in the product propostition for SME
and Consumer markets it looks to me that investments are needed first in
order to make some serious money later. I would replace partners with
"investors" ;-)
I think it's a bad idea for a company to charge
into a business in which they have no experience
or knowlege - they wind up (slowly) re-learning
what all the experts already knew. Not a recipe
for success. We don't even have a support
structure that's appropriate for a business model
like this (end-user support), we'd have to invent
one from scratch.
We do have Integrators who are taking our product
into ISPs to fill the missing gaps. That's one
approach to success.
If ISP's are not interested in delivering a Sun Ray service, integrators
are not hired and the missing gap will not be filled.
I don't think it's a good strategy to wait for ISP's to move.
They might decide not to move at all.
I don't believe this approach indicates that we are
stuck in our ways, just clear on our business and
what needs to be done to be successful.
But I'm just a lowly engineer, not a marketing or
biz development guy.
I have been reading articles about Jonathan and Scott telling us all
about the doip, display grit, utility computing, etc.

I could not find the article I read where Jonathan said: Sun will build
the grid if the ISP's waited to long.
To me that means: Sun has resources available to build it (with partners)!
I think correct roadmap information is of key importance here to get all
the partner lined up to deliver the sun ray service.
Some how that is hard to get hold of.
