I understand it too, but Sun also doesn't make any money off of used S Rs bought off of Ebay for $30...Sure it's a cool method to get them in to the hands of people who otherwise couldn't get them (students/enthusiasts/etc) Apple figured this out a while ago by pushing Macs into classrooms. I have recommended stuff for clients that I've started out tinkering around with at home, but it takes a while for these types of grass roots situations to bare fruit, and it's something a marketing type can't measure on a spreadsheet, so it isn't considered. > Sun's entire marketing department needs to be fired, and possibly > even beaten with very heavy things beforehand. I also need to find an alarm clock application for Solaris. If I could get that, and get it to play a stream through XMMS with live365.com, I'd be all set.
